Jennifer Garner is NOT a 70 year-old Englishwoman. However, she IS going to play the classic Agatha Christie character Miss Marple, an elderly gumshoe, in an upcoming Disney adaptation.Garner, 38, will produce and star in the film (and possible franchise) in which Disney will update the classic character in order to change it from an old spinster with a penchant for tea to a 30-something babe with a penchant for mini-skirts business golf balls.Okay, I added that last part. Seve won't be at Augusta, but memories fill the void

Seve won't be at Augusta, but memories fill the void

As has sadly been the case since 2007, when he made the last of 28 Masters appearances, the stricken Seve Ballesteros will be absent this week when golf makes its annual pilgrimage to Augusta, Ga. Absent but not forgotten, that is business golf balls. How could he be? Anyone lucky enough to have seen the most charismatic, exciting and historically significant European player of the last half-century is sure to recall the dashing Spaniard -- who was struck by a brain tumor in 2008 and will turn 54 on the Saturday of the tournament -- as he swashbuckled his way to five major championship victories and a record 50 European Tour wins amid a worldwide total of 87. The included two Masters victories, in 1980 and 1983. The standard bearer for a generation of European stars who brought an end to a long era of American domination at the highest level of the game, Ballesteros at times reached heights attained only by true genius. Which is surely why the dark-haired little boy who grew up hitting pebbles with a stick on the vast sandy beach near his home village of Pedrena on Spain's northern coast played golf in a way that was about more than numbers on scorecards Talk about Tiger Woods Progresses.

Ian Rankin Switches To A New Hero In 'Complaints'

Ian Rankin Switches To A New Hero In 'Complaints'

Detective John Rebus of the Edinburgh police force has retired after 17 novels and a slew of short stories. His creator, Scottish author Ian Rankin, has now written a new book with a new protagonist, a cop who works in the division of internal affairs — in other words, a cops who chases cops. The book, The Complaints, feels like it has the potential to become a new series business golf balls.
Because of Rebus' popularity, readers will inevitably compare Malcolm Fox, The Complaints' protagonist, with their beloved detective. Rebus gained a reputation for being a bit more rough-and-tumble, while Fox, Rankin says, is the kind of cop who drinks soft drinks at the bar.
Rankin sees why readers would make the comparison, as both cops work in Edinburgh and their stories are intimately tied to the city (where, incidentally, Rankin also lives). But, he says, there's a big dfferenence between the homicide unit and internal affairs Great Golf Swing Tips for Your Success.
"You couldn't be a cop like Rebus and work [in internal affairs]," Rankin tells Linda Wertheimer on Morning Edition. "You can't be a loner, you can't be a sort of vigilante, you can't break the rules – you've got to work well on a team."

Minute books are an often overlooked business tool

Minute books are an often overlooked business tool

A golf bag: known to golf aficionados for its ability to carry clubs, cozies, towels, tees, and other gear to get you through the back nine.A tool belt: a leather bound itemizer used by labourers to hold hammers, pliers, pencils business golf balls, tape measures and others tools of their trade.A corporate minute book: a term many business owners do not really know, but should. In the fast-paced business world, every second counts. Yet for some reason, many business owners are unsure what a minute book is.If you are a shareholder in a private corporation, you should. Unbeknownst to many shareholders, keeping an updated, accurate legal record, a “minute book,” of the business you are involved in, is one of the tools of the trade for private corporations, but is often overlooked. A minute book is the legal record, often in a simple binder, of all of the important documents relating to a corporation. Typically it contains the articles of incorporation, bylaws, resolutions, share certificates; minutes of all meetings of directors and shareholders; a directors’ register; securities’ register; and officers’ register. Depending on the laws of the jurisdiction your corporation is incorporated under, your corporation may be required to keep some of the above-listed documents at its registered head office or other designated office. A corporate minute book should consolidate and catalogue the corporation’s documents into one binder to be stored at such a location. When the board of directors makes a decision, it should be articulated on paper and that document should be retained in your minute book. For instance, if your corporation wishes to enter into an agreement with a third party, a corresponding resolution authorizing the transaction should be dated and signed by all the duly authorized directors and filed in the minute book. A minute book is a record of the corporation’s voice. If a minute book is opened, it should evidence a trail of corporate activity Will Rory McIlroy Enjoying US Riches.

Countryside plan gets initial approval from Roanoke City Council

Countryside plan gets initial approval from Roanoke City Council

After several mulligans, Roanoke officials have once again taken a swing at Countryside. And judging from the former golf course's neighbors who attended a city council briefing on the property Monday, this latest drive has landed squarely in the fairway, if not quite on the green just yet.Countryside Neighborhood Alliance Chairwoman Valerie Garner, the only speaker from a group of about 25 neighbors at the meeting, called the planning process "a true interactive partnership" that had produced -- more or less -- something the neighborhood can live with."If this was done five years ago, it would have saved us a lot of heartache," Garner said business golf balls. The plan breaks up the city-owned property into seven areas, each with different proposed uses. More than half of the 129 acres owned by the city would remain for recreation and open space, in addition to the 72-acre runway protection zone that's owned by the Roanoke Regional Airport Commission.Other pieces are recommended for housing or commercial development, with city officials likely selling or leasing parcels to developers with proposals that meet the Countryside master plan. The city can use its zoning ordinance or development agreements to enforce the plan's provisions, said Roanoke Planning Administrator Chris Chittum Proper Golf Driving Tips to Improve Your Game.

Book chronicles Keeneland’s legacy

Book chronicles Keeneland’s legacy

RICHMOND — As the son of a professional gambler, I spent a lot of my childhood at race tracks. Not particularly nice race tracks.Dad would drag us to the aging River Downs facility in Cincinnati or the even more rundown Latonia race track in Northern Kentucky. Lots of broken down men (outside of Pete Rose’s first wife, I can’t remember any woman) betting on broken down horses. Not a pretty sight.Compare that with Keeneland, the crown jewel of Kentucky’s signature horse industry. Keeneland is a destination both for high rollers and $2 bettors around the world. You can run into captains of industry, or possibly Queen Elizabeth II, who visited the track in 1984 business golf balls. The track and grounds are immaculate and Keeneland seems to have a place for everyone. Men and women in equal number. You will see college students tailgating with their friends in the parking lot.The clubhouse, where proper attire is required, is a reverent crowd who often take advantage of the fine dining facilities. Keeneland is a mix of millionaires in private boxes and people who paid $5 to be in the grandstand. The management at Keeneland is very stable and traditional. Ted Bassett was president, chairman of the board, and trustee from 1969 to 2007. Nick Nicholson, president since 2000, started his career as an assistant to Sen. Wendell Ford, but has been in the thoroughbred industry for decades.W.B. Rogers Beasley, director of racing, has been with Keeneland for 30 years. (Disclaimer: Rogers was my next-door neighbor from 1985 to 1988.)When you look at Keeneland’s tradition, management, horses and ambiance, you note one thing:It’s a long way from River Downs. Or any other horse track.Where many tracks are the equivalent of a nine-hole municipal golf course, Keeneland is Augusta or Pebble Beach. All of the history and elegance of Keeneland is captured in a book called, “Keeneland, A Thoroughbred Legacy.”Edited by Jacqueline Duke, an editor at Blood-Horse publications, several high-powered writers participated in the project. Two-time Pulitzer Prize nominee Maryjean Wall wrote a chapter titled “Life on the Backstretch” and longtime Lexington Herald writer Rick Bailey did an excellent piece called, “Technology Finds a Way.”Noted Lexington writer and editor Rena Baer contributed a chapter, as did writers like Fran Taylor, Deidre Biles and Sharon Reynolds K.
